Does the math work after FBA + freight?

If your sell price is under $20, FBA fees + freight + Amazon referral often eat all margin. You need $30+ retail to make the unit economics work for products coming from India. Use the cost calculator to test before committing.

Can you differentiate from Chinese competition?

For generic categories (plastics, basic electronics, cheap toys), China has 5-10x shipping cost advantage. Pick categories where the Indian origin story matters: handloom textiles, Ayurvedic beauty, copperware, organic cotton, fair-trade certifications.

Is the compliance budget realistic?

Beauty (FDA registration: $1,000-2,000). Kids products (CPSIA testing: $500-2,000 per product). Food (FDA + facility inspection: $2,000-5,000). Electronics (FCC: $3,000-8,000). Budget for compliance BEFORE picking the category.
